Join us Sunday, March 5, at 2:00 p.m. for a workshop on “Found Wood”. Some of the most beautiful carving comes from a chunk of wood “found” in fireplace wood piles, along waterways, and on the ground in the woods or in tree lines. Nancy will share some pictures of found wood sculptures. The audience will then get what they “see” in a piece of wood. A pattern will be drawn on the wood and she will start carving. Volunteers will get a chance to assist and move some wood. This program is free to the public and refreshments will be served.

This special quarterly exhibit is brought to you by donations from our host, presenters, Miners Hall Museum trustees, members, Crawford County Commissioners, a grant from Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas, and private donations from supporters like you.

After the program you may also visit the current special exhibit “Carving a Lasting Legacy”, hosted by Nancy Arthurs.

Call 620-347-4220 with any questions. Our doors open at 1:30 pm and program begins at 2:00 pm. Reservations not required.

The special exhibit is open for viewing at Miners Hall Museum, 701 S. Broadway, Franklin, Kansas, 66735. Monday - Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm and will be on display through Thursday, March 30.
